Mabilen tops among the 492 First Senior High School (SHS) Graduates

Rauline Christine M. Mabilen, a student from Academic Tract under the Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) strand of section Electra led the 492 first Senior High School (SHS) graduates by garnering the highest honors award during the first SHS commencement exercises held at Gingoog City Comprehensive National High School (GCCNHS) covered court last April 6, 2018 with the theme “Mag-aaral ng K to 12: Handa sa Hamon ng Buhay”

Mabilen, the eldest daughter of Mr. Raul Mabilen ( TLE teacher of GCCNHS ) and Cristita M. Mabilen ( English teacher of GCCNHS ) received various awards such as: With Highest Honors Excellence Award, Senate of the Philippines Academic Excellence Award, Mayor Marie L. Guingona Academic Excellence Award, Polkim S. Motoomull Foundation Academic Excellence Award, Prince Town Academic Excellence Award, Outstanding Leadership Award, Outstanding Performance in Communication Arts, Outstanding Performance in Social Science, Outstanding Performance in Research, Outstanding Performance in Science, Outstanding Performance in Math, National Qualifier in Festival of Talents - SulatTanghal, RSPC Copy Reading and Headline Writing Qualifier, First Place in Regional Festival of Talents-SulaTanghal, First Place in DSPC Copy Reading and Headline Writing, First Place Division Festival of Talents, First Place English Extravaganza Live Advertisement and as an Anime Club President.

Second to Mabilen garnering “With High Honors” award was Kimberly Lofranco, a student from Business Accountancy and Management (ABM) strand section Aris. She received the following awards: With Highest Honors Academic Excellence Award, Senate of the Philippines Academic Excellence Award, Mayor Guingona Academic Excellence Award, Leadership Awardee, Best in Feasibility Study, Best Speaker (FS Presentation), NSPC National Qualifier, First Place in RSPC Newswriting, First Place in DSPC Newswriting and an Awardee of Rover Scout.

Cristaňa Loayon, a student from Business Accountancy and Management (ABM) strand section Aris was the third top student. She also received awards such as: With High Honors Academic Award, Senate of the Philippines Academic Excellence Award and Mayor Marie L. Guingona Academic Excellence Award.

The said top three students led the graduation ceremony. Kimberly Lofranco gave her Welcome Address, Rauline Christine M. Mabilen gave her Tribute to Parents and Cristaňa Loayon led the Pledge of Loyalty.

DepEd Order No. 36 series of 2017 otherwise known as the K to 12 Policy on Giving Awards and Recognition specifies the Academic Excellence Award given to learners who meet the following cut-off grades: 98- 100 - With Highest Honors/May Pinakamataas na Karangalan; 95- 97 - With High Honors/May Mataas na Karangalan and 90–94 - With Honors/May Karan Galan. Thus, Class Valedictorian, Salutatorian and Honorable Mention.
